Within the classroom, our teachers provide differentiated learning experiences that encourage students to think critically, solve complex problems and engage with ideas at a deeper level. Learning is designed to support each student’s growth, ensuring that those who are ready for additional challenge have opportunities to extend beyond the core curriculum.
Beyond the classroom, students can participate in a diverse range of academic competitions, clubs and enrichment programs that foster curiosity, creativity and collaboration. Opportunities vary from year to year and may include activities such as debating, STEM challenges, coding, mathematics competitions, public speaking, science competitions and leadership forums. These experiences enable students to apply their learning in authentic contexts while discovering new passions and talents.
VCE Acceleration Program
Students who consistently demonstrate outstanding academic ability, strong organisational skills and exemplary work habits may be invited to participate in Kilbreda College’s VCE Acceleration Program.
The program provides eligible students with the opportunity to commence a VCE Unit 1 and 2 subject while in Year 10. They then continue with Units 3 and 4 of the same subject in Year 11, allowing them to experience the challenge of senior studies while broadening their VCE program.
Participation in the VCE Acceleration Program enables students to develop advanced study skills, build confidence in senior learning and pursue areas of particular interest and strength. Entry to the program is by application and is based on academic achievement, learning behaviours and teacher recommendations.
