In the Spotlight

Ashleigh Gardner – Class of 2005

On the first day of Term 2, all Year 11 students participated in the ASPIRE Day. The highlight of the day was the keynote presentation from past pupil, Ashleigh Gardner (Class of 2005). In 2017, Ash was appointed as a newsreader for Nova FM and is currently the newsreader for the successful breakfast show, ‘Chrissie Sam and Browny’. She also co-hosts an early morning radio show on Nova.

Ash shared her journey from VCE, to undertaking a Journalism degree at Monash University and then, like most new journalists starting out, in regional news before moving back to Melbourne to take up news reporting roles with Fox FM and 3AW. Her inspirational story encouraged students to follow their passions, set goals and map out the journey that it will take to reach your dreams, ensuring that you allow for redirection and balance along the way.
