Past pupil, Andrea Foxworthy (Class of 1992) has produced an incredible movie which is currently showing in cinemas, ‘Brazen Hussies’. Nominated for ‘Best Documentary’ in the 2020 Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards, ‘Brazen Hussies’ introduces contemporary audiences to the Australian second wave feminists and combines archival footage, memorabilia, personal photographs and personal accounts from members of the Women’s Liberation Movement 1965 to 1975, showing how they challenged the culture of the times, demanded equality and promoted the cause of Women’s Rights. Whilst there is still work to do, this movie highlights to women and girls today, the pioneering efforts of those who came before them and changed the world forever. A must see!
