Year 9 Camps

Term 2 kicked off for our Year 9 students with a week of adventure, fun and socialising at the BRIDGES and Duke of Edinburgh Camps. Students spent three nights at ‘The Summit’ participating in a range of activities from abseiling, snake wrangling, climbing, caving, jumping, hiking and orienteering. Evenings were spent creating artwork, completing a night walk, reflecting on the experiences of refugees, bush dancing or roasting marshmallows by the campfire, while being serenaded by live guitar and vocals. The highlight for many students was the ‘Monster Course’, which required teams of students to complete an obstacle course that involved lots of dirt, water and running! Throughout this time, students were encouraged to take the next step in their personal growth journey, through a process called ‘Target Stretch, Super Stretch’. The result was that many students increased their resilience and comfort zones and had “the best fun of their lives!”
