Our VET Sport and Recreation classes have been very busy lately. Our Year 11 class assisted at the St Patrick’s Primary School, Mentone, Athletics carnival and assisted all runners at the recent House Fun Run at Karkarook Park. They have also completed their First Aid Certificates. Our Year 12 class recently completed their CPR update and have been preparing and running our junior Physical Education classes. This VET Sport and Recreation course emphasises sporting skills and sports industry knowledge in a more practical sense. Career opportunities may include sports recreation officers, administrators, developers and coaches. As a part of our pathways program, which includes options to undertake VCE or VCE VM in the senior years, the addition of a VET subject allows students to enjoy hands-on learning and receive another qualification before they graduate.
