The VCE VET Certificate III in Sport and Recreation equips participants with the essential knowledge, skills and competencies to enhance their training and career opportunities in the sports or community recreation industries. Toward the end of the last term and beginning of this term, our Sport and Rec students have engaged in various practical activities to enhance their theory components. A highlight last term was the three-day Bike Camp, featuring cycling trips from McCrae to Rye and Ocean Grove to Queenscliff. Students also enjoyed a range of other activities including a ferry ride, surf lessons at Ocean Grove and paddle boarding on the Barwon River, creating lasting memories. This term, they have participated in hands-on activities that link their learning to the workplace. They have completed their First Aid Certification, gaining crucial skills and have supported local primary schools at their Athletics Carnivals, most recently at the St Patrick’s Primary School Cross Country event.
