Triple E Week – Year 8 Camp
EXCITE, EXPLORE, EXPERIENCE!
At the beginning of June our Year 8 students participated in “Triple E Week”. The week included an excursion to ‘Top Arts’, a rare opportunity to see a selection of Year 12 artwork from 2022 and the ‘Melbourne Now Exhibition’, which highlighted the extraordinary work of Victorian-based artists who are shaping our cultural landscape. Pastoral activities were woven in to the week including journaling and an Amazing Race, and team building activities that incorporated engaging learning experiences arranged by the Art and Wellbeing Departments. A highlight of the week was the three-day camp at Valley Homestead in Ovens. Activities included Abseiling a 10 metre tower, a Vertical Challenge course – 12.5 metres high and four separate climbs, a dual Flying Fox, Free Fall slide, bush survival skills and much more! The camp and the week in general focused on integrating physical challenges, teamwork and positive risk taking to assist in developing self-discipline and resilience. It also enhanced positive relationships and built upon friendships that have been developing since Year 7.
