Term 3 Assembly
Yesterday we all gathered in the Mary Dalton Hall to celebrate our Term 3 Assembly. The morning began with a moving address from Assistant Principal: Wellbeing and Engagement, Stephanie Smyth as she reflected on what she had recently learnt whilst on the Camino De Santiago. This was a challenge she was called to do and she encouraged our students to do the same – “I am starting to live in the moment, to be fully present, to appreciate the simple things in life, to not dream my life but to live my dreams”. Led by student host, Amy G, the Assembly showcased many student achievements. Multiple awards were presented for DAV Debating and Public Speaking, the Big Science Competition, Brain Bee Challenge, Photoshop Competition and the Italian Studies Junior Poetry Competition. Our co-curricular Performing Arts students had the chance to shine with the Senior Ensemble performing a big-band rendition of Marvin Gaye’s, “I Heard it Through the Grapevine” and Piano Soloist, Year 10 student Tara KL played, “The Merry-Go-Round of Life” with such joy! Much work goes on behind-the-scenes to create these wonderful events and we thank the many staff members involved for creating another wonderful assembly.
