Teen Chef Competition
On Friday 28 October our two teams of Year 10 and Year 11 students competed in the inaugural ‘Teen Chef Competition’ at Killester College. In a similar fashion to our SEGAP sport program, this culinary competition saw our teams compete against Killester, OLSH and Sacred Heart Colleges. Our Year 11 Team, Lucy F and Kyla A, prepared and cooked the savoury dish, a Vegetarian Lasagna. Our Year 10 Team, Nyrie B and Kiara M, prepared the dessert, a Baked Cheesecake with candied orange peel and berry coulis. The Australian Culinary Federation oversaw this competition and judged the students on mis en place, hygiene, food waste, professional preparation, service, presentation and taste. The judging criteria is set to international standards and it was wonderful to watch our students compete at such a prestigious event. After long deliberation the judging was announced and our students were awarded a Bronze Medallion for their incredible dishes. Well done to all competitors!
