‘SPARK: Girls in STEM’ Holiday Program

Today we ran our ‘SPARK: Girls in STEM’ Holiday Program for girls in Grades 4, 5 and 6. Our aim was to ‘spark’ curiosity, interest and passions in STEM, whilst having a whole lot of fun! It was lovely to see everyone giving things a go and forming new connections (amongst a lot of giggles!). Workshops included ‘Colourful Chemistry’, where students tried out real forensic chemistry, ‘Creative Catapults’, where budding engineers created catapults and flew objects through the air, and ‘Hunting for Treasure’ where participants solved a number of clues in order to crack the code! For many this is their first taste of what a secondary school is like and we loved their enthusiasm and courage to try new things. We look forward to running it again in 2024!
