The ‘Season of Excellence’ is a five-month annual festival showcasing outstanding senior secondary student work from Victorian schools. The ‘Season’ presents work created by VCE and VET students in Design, Technology, Research, Multimedia, Cinematic, Visual and Performing Arts through exhibitions, screenings and performances supported by education talks, forums, panel discussions, catalogues, programs and online material. Students from both our Visual Arts and Performing Arts learning areas were given the opportunity to attend relevant shows including ‘Top Arts’, ‘Top Designs’, ‘Top Screen’ and ‘Top Acts’ to gain inspiration and deepen their knowledge from top scoring students. After their relevant exhibitions they had the chance to explore surrounding spaces like the Melbourne Museum and National Gallery to draw on even further inspiration. With tips for future work and greater insights into the requirements for their outcomes and subjects, we are excited at the prospect of our students appearing in these exhibitions one day and inspiring those that come after them.
