Year 8
He is not here, but has risen.
Remember how he told you,
while he was still in Galilee,
that the Son of Man must be handed over to sinners,
and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.’
Then they remembered his words,
and returning from the tomb,
they told all this to the eleven and to all the rest.
Now it was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James,
and the other women with them who told this to the apostles.
Luke 24:5-10
As we came to the end of Term 1 and embrace the events of Holy Week, we can take the opportunity to reflect on the journey of Term 1 and the many and varied contributions by Year 8 students to college life.
The Lenten journey is a celebration of life – the mystery of the resurrection of Jesus is the great validation of the God made human and the ultimate affirmation of the relationship between us and God. It is also noteworthy that it is women who are the first to hear the story of the resurrection and to evangelise the ultimate Good News. They were faithful and strong, and role models for all the students and staff at Kilbreda.
