Year 7 Camp

The Year 7 Camp was incredible fun! Students had smiles on their faces throughout their time there and they were all such a pleasure to be with. Lord Somers Camp, situated on the Mornington Peninsula, offers a huge range of activities set in ideal natural surrounds. The camp was engaging and exciting with activities including Stand-Up Paddle boarding and kayaking to pizza making and screen printing. The camp was the highlight of Term 1 for so many, including our staff!

It was such a joy to see our Year 7 students encouraging each other and challenging themselves mentally and physically. Connection and teamwork were a strong focus of the camp and it was inspiring to see everyone working together. It was wonderful to share in the excitement of their concert and to have a chat with many of them about their camp highlights.  I loved the designs of each of their Homeroom T-shirts.

As a staff, we are very proud of the spirit our students showed and we know that wonderful memories of this time will remain. We congratulate all students on their excellent behaviour, teamwork, communication, encouragement and support of one another and staff. Their resilience, positivity, willingness to listen, learn new skills and extending themselves to make new friendships is a credit to them. They showed courage and accepted challenges and we couldn’t ask for more!

On behalf of all staff who participated on this camp, we send a heartfelt thanks to our Year 7 students for making this year’s camp totally awesome and for making great memories to cherish forever!
