Commencement of Headstart: Stepping into Growth

The beginning of Headstart is fast approaching, an exciting time for students as they transition from Year 7 to Year 8. Headstart provides an opportunity to experience new classes, meet new teachers, and form new friendships – all of which are essential parts of personal growth and development.

We understand that class placements can sometimes feel challenging, especially when students are not placed in the same class as their close friends. However, it’s important to remember that growth happens in the stretch zone, not the comfort zone. While it may feel uncomfortable at first, being open to meeting new people and adapting to new environments builds flexibility, confidence and resilience – important skills for thriving in an ever-changing world.

Organising classes is a complex process that considers many factors, including subject selections, learning needs and balance across groups. Subject choices and learning pathways must take priority. Additionally, class lists may change between Headstart and the commencement of the new school year due to operational requirements.

We encourage your daughter to embrace this as an opportunity to connect with new peers, broaden her friendship circle and focus on her learning journey. Each new experience contributes to her growth as a capable, adaptable learner – ready to take on the year ahead with confidence and curiosity.
