Year 12

What a wonderful start to Year 12 it has been. Day 1 saw all the students have their photos taken with the traditional pigtails. We discussed how to make Year 12 successful and ways to destress when needed.

We have been busy back at school with an inspiring presentation by past pupils who spoke of how they found intrinsic motivation, what inspired them and how they kept going even when things were difficult.

Street access has been very popular with the local cafes doing a roaring trade at lunchtime, as well as the kitchen being utilised. We have had our first Karaoke lunchtime sing-a-long and look forward to many more with special guests in attendance.

The participation in the House Swimming Carnival by our Year 12 students was fabulous. Everyone was involved and dressed up in amazing costumes.

Year 12 Formal

An absolute highlight so far has been the Year 12 Formal. Colours aplenty, sequins and matching ties were on display at Merrimu Receptions. The dance floor buzzed with amazing moves and awards were given out. Everyone must be commended for their exemplary behaviour. It was certainly a very proud moment!

Student Reflection

On Friday 2 February, the Class of 2024 gathered together at Merrimu Receptions to celebrate our Year 12 Formal. It was such a memorable night where everyone gathered looking their absolute best and eager to start the biggest event of the Year 12 social calendar!

After being greeted by our teachers and welcomed to the Formal by our wonderful College Co-Captains, the night began. The delicious entrées were served, photos were taken and memories were made. However, the highlight of the night was certainly on the dance floor. There was plenty of dancing, sing-a-longs and smiles all round, with a special cameo performance by Ms Dempster showing off her impressive dance moves! Once the main course was complete, the much-awaited formal awards were presented which gave everyone a good laugh.

Despite the sore feet and blisters, the night was filled with so much fun and life-long memories. We would like to say a massive thank you to all the teachers that made this beautiful event happen, a night we will never forget.

Year 12

I look forward to the rest of the year with this group. Every day they inspire me with their thoughtfulness and determination. I am excited about our Year 12 Retreat next week, where we can take time out to focus on where we are going and our relationship with God.
