Building Bridges

On Wednesday 27 July, the Year 11 Building Bridges students visited Mt Hira College, an Islamic school in Springvale. Upon entering, we got to experience the serenity and beauty of the Mosque. During this time, we learnt about traditions, culture, practices, symbols and their religious figures whilst engaging in their sunset prayer as one of their five daily prayers which are part of their religion.

Afterwards we gathered in the school hall to share dinner and we had the opportunity to try baklava. We then gathered into groups for the last time and joined the facilitators to reflect on what we had taken from the program and our overall experiences. We have thoroughly enjoyed the Building Bridges experience and we hold dearly the friendships we have made with those from different schools.
