Year 11

Our last two Pastoral lessons have had a focus on our Positive Behaviour for Learning Framework, in particular ‘Being Resilient’. Activities and discussions have focused on building student capacity to deal with study demands through to unfamiliar situations that we can find ourselves in.

Past experiences were drawn upon, in the quest to find as good, if not a better, solution to the problem or situation.

√ Be willing to learn new things. Step out of your comfort zone.
√ Develop a resilient mindset. Stay committed to your goals.
√ Persist when faced with challenges.
√ Accept constructive feedback from peers and teachers.
√ Celebrate your learning journey with joy and gratitude.

Brainstorming scenarios including lost phones and study notes, to stolen passports, created great discussion about the need to be resilient and to problem solve rather than cave in to emotions.

Sticking to academic goals was also a good discussion point. Seeking feedback and making change to enhance results was considered as a positive way forward.
