Year 10

This fortnight marks the beginning of our students’ senior years of study. I think I can safely speak for all of us when I reflect on how fast this year has transpired! It has been such an uphill battle for many, if not all of our young people in their own respective ways. There have been so many challenges, obstacles and difficult moments that every single young person in the Year 10 has faced. While these challenges have been unique and varied for each student, it is important to recognise that each member of the Year 10 community has jumped their own hurdles, faced their own speed bumps and has overcome these challenges with grace, resulting in every person in our year level growing, becoming stronger and more resilient.

Reflecting on 2022, with many students it is widely recognised that this year was the toughest to date as they had to adjust, reacquaint and re-establish so many lost behaviors and routines. The level of grit and determination I have observed this year has been extraordinary. I know that we all shared a collective sense of pride for our Year 10 students.

While there is still a long and difficult journey ahead, with new challenges and obstacles to face, I feel assured that each student in our year level will face these with positivity, perseverance and confidence, because they have already demonstrated to themselves and us that they can do it.

It is important that all students use this fortnight to create routines that will assist them to flourish throughout Years 11 and 12 and set themselves up now for an exciting 2023.

I wish all Year 10 students every success as they enter their senior years of learning. Importantly thank you (parents and the College community) for your ongoing support and care in assisting your child to achieve all they have achieved this year, and will continue to do so in their futures.
