Wellbeing and Engagement

When schools and families work hand in hand, we help students build the confidence, resilience and skills they need to navigate challenges and succeed both in and out of the classroom. We appreciate your continued support and commitment to your child’s wellbeing and development. Thank you to the parents who joined us for the breakfast session on resilience. Your presence and engagement play an important role in strengthening the partnership between families and schools. Together, we can create a supportive environment that empowers young people to learn, grow and thrive.

Community Action

A heartfelt thank you to all the students who took part in the Community Action initiative. We are grateful for their efforts and the kindness they showed while writing heartfelt cards for sick children in hospital and thoughtful messages for the elderly in nursing homes truly make a difference. The words of encouragement and compassion will bring smiles, comfort and a sense of connection to those who need it most.  What Strength and Kindliness!

Brigidine Day

We also increase our fundraising efforts as we move through the term towards Brigidine Day.  Many events are planned prior to and on this special last day of term. Wellsprings for Women is our focus for fundraising this year.  Wellsprings is a non-profit organisation that supports women, especially those from migrant and refugee backgrounds, by providing education, support services and a safe, welcoming environment. Their work helps empower women through programs such as English language classes, employment support and wellbeing activities.

Environmental Action

This year the Kilbreda Environmental Action Team are running the Kilbreda Thrift Store to combat fast fashion. Fast fashion is where retailers quickly produce trendy, low-cost clothing to keep up with the latest fashion. These clothes are quickly thrown away and ends up in landfill. Clothes can be donated every Thursday morning and lunchtime leading up to Brigidine Day at the flagpole. Please bring clothes that are in good condition! On Brigidine Day we will open a stall with all the clothes, available for you to buy them. There’s sure to be something for everyone so come along to find your new favourite outfit!
