Introducing our Positive Behaviour For Learning Framework:  Embracing Resilience

As we navigate through the first term of the 2024 school year, I am thrilled to share with you our school’s commitment to cultivating a positive learning environment through our Positive Behaviour for Learning Framework. At the heart of this framework lie three key pillars: “Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Resilient”. These pillars serve as guiding principles for our students and is at the heart of our school community’s collective efforts to create a safe and supportive learning environment.

This week holds particular significance as we delve into the pivotal theme of resilience. Resilience, defined as the ability to bounce back from challenges and setbacks, is a skill we believe is crucial for our students’ holistic development. It encompasses being willing to learn new things and stepping out of our comfort zones, traits that are essential for success in both academic and personal spheres.

Throughout this term, our collective journey centres on exploring and embracing every facet of the Positive Behaviour for Learning framework as a united school community. Each morning during Homeroom and through the Pastoral Care program, students will participate in activities that are designed to deepen their understanding of the vital skills encapsulated within our framework.

Promoting the expectation that students are eager to learn new things and venture beyond their comfort zones holds multifaceted benefits. This approach fosters adaptability, nurtures a growth mindset, bolsters confidence, refines problem-solving abilities, and stimulates innovation. By instilling resilience in our students, we empower them to navigate life’s challenges with courage and determination.

To assist you in seamlessly integrating this crucial aspect of the framework into your child’s learning journey, we have curated resources designed to provide support and guidance which can be found on PAM. These resources are tailored to empower you in fostering resilience within our learning environment. We believe that a strong partnership between home and school is key to the success of our students, and your active involvement in reinforcing these principles will contribute significantly to their growth.

As we continue to uphold our commitment to nurturing a positive and inclusive learning community, we are excited to embark on this journey of growth and discovery with you and your child. Together, let us foster a culture of resilience that enables our students to overcome obstacles, embrace new opportunities, and achieve their full potential.
