Visual Arts

We are coming to the end of a very busy period for students and teachers. Our VCE and Year 10 students in Media, Art and Visual Communication Design have been preparing and sitting exams this week. We wish them all the best.

Next week we move into HeadStart for our Year 10, 11 and 12 classes. The transition into a new subject at a higher level can be exciting for some students and a challenge for others. All the teachers in Visual Arts are here to support students with their transition to Year 10 and VCE.

Visual Communication Design

Unit 2, AOS 3 – Brand Development

In response to a given brief, students engaged in research and analysis to support their interpretation of the brief and as stimulus for generating ideas.

Drawing on their creativity, they used a range of manual and digital methods, media and materials to generate ideas for further development. They then reflected on these options and further developed their preferred designs.

Finally, they refined their design using Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop programs and presented their visual communications.

Throughout the design process they were required to accumulate and annotate their drawings as part of their ongoing evaluation to assist with creating visual communications. They also had to consider trademark, copyright and legal obligations of designers when using the work of others in all stages of the design process.
