Visual and Creative Arts

This year seems to have flown by and it was great to have all Art students back in the classroom for a full year this year. In October, we had our annual Art and Design Exhibition, which was held live for the first time in three years! It was wonderful to celebrate all the creative artworks that were produced during the year.

I thought for my last article of the year, we would look at some of the imaginative and skillful artworks that filled the gallery space created by the Art team.

Creative Arts Leaders

The two students that feature in the photos below are the 2022 Creative Arts Leaders, Marcella Malignaggi and Carla Zampaglione. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their leadership of Art activities throughout the year. I wish them all the best for their future adventures.

Year 7 Art

To end the year, I’d like to feature our youngest members of the student body, the Year 7 students and would like to highlight some of their creations.

They have been creating Impressionist Paintings on small canvases. Students learnt about French Impressionists and Australian Impressionists. Many historical paintings were created in the Mentone and Beaumaris areas in the late 1800s, so it was great to look at these paintings. Students researched a garden image to paint in the Impressionist style.

Here are some talented final artworks by our Year 7 students.
