VCE VM

Kilbreda College and St Patrick’s Primary School Community Partnership

Last Tuesday, the VCE VM Year 11 students completed their final session of the community partnership with St Patrick’s Primary School. The project, which extended over two terms, was a resounding success. The students taught their prep buddies confidently and competently. It was gratifying to be part of such a positive experience in which each person flourished.

It’s been great to connect with the children and see how the preps learn.  I have enjoyed watching them try every activity and learn new things.

I really enjoyed watching my student grow. When I first met him, he was very shy and did not speak. Over the course of the program, he opened up, shared ideas and was very comfortable speaking with me.

I enjoyed planning and organising different activities for the prep students and seeing how they played out in reality.  Also, it was really nice to build relationships with the prep students.

It was lovely to see the prep students grow in confidence and improve their ability to learn new things.

I believe that the bond we had with the students was very special. I enjoyed seeing the preps each fortnight and watching them participate enthusiastically in our activities.

Enrichment Day Program

The final day of the Enrichment Day Program came around way too soon. However, the day was warm and brilliantly sunny, perfect for a celebration of our achievements, experiences and opportunities. The Year 11 students did this in style with a picnic, activities and a walk through winding wetlands and bush trails at Braeside Park.

Braeside Park had nice scenery and wildlife. I enjoyed walking the trails and looking at everything the park had. I enjoyed spending time with my friends and also the park.

Braeside Park was a good spot to hang out with our friends. I loved that we had a bit of time to bring our snacks and eat. The walks were really nice.

I enjoyed the walk we did at the start of our excursion. It was a lovely sunny day and I enjoyed seeing all the animals in the bush. The scavenger hunt was fun as it was a bit of mission to find some of the things on the list.
Evie Barnes

Braeside Park was good. I liked being able to sit with my friends and share food with each other and have time to catch up. The scavenger hunt was a fun collaborative activity. I enjoyed walking around and going through the list to find things.

Recently, the VCE VM group travelled to Braeside Park. Together we enjoyed a picnic lunch and strolled through the park. We then completed a scavenger hunt and headed back to school. It was very enjoyable.

Braeside Park was a fun experience to actually look more in depth at the surrounds. The walk was good it and it made me feel more energised.
