House Swimming Carnival

Wow, what an amazing turn out of students at the House Swimming Carnival! On Monday 27 February many Kilbreda Students across all year levels represented their Houses – Kildare, Delany, Brigid and Tullow. It was great to see so many people swimming their hearts out and cheering on their teammates from the sidelines. We also had the opportunity to shed some energy at the volleyball nets and gain extra House points! It was a well organised and enjoyable day.

Thank you to all the teachers that helped out, and staff at the Oakleigh Recreation Centre for letting us use their facilities. It was a success. All teams did an amazing job but in the end it was Kildare that had it in the bag by taking out the win by 300 POINTS! Amazing job Kildare!!

The staff and students went face-to-face competing against each other in the pool. The teachers trailed behind us for most of the race. However ‘cheated’ their way to victory 😉 Well done to all the students for braving the weather. It was a great break from schoolwork and lots of fun. A massive congratulations to Kildare again, let’s bring home the athletics trophy as well!

Congratulations

We congratulate Ella Taylor (Year 11) who won first prize at a recent skate competition held at Chelsea Skate Park. Ella is a seasoned skater, showing huge bravery and determination. She drops into huge skate bowls, has endless falls, injuries, multiple bruises, and even had a broken arm. She really loves the sport and the positive community supporting her.

How timely for Ella winning this event near International Women’s Day! In a predominately male dominated sport, Ella is a great example for breaking gender norms and a fantastic role model for younger girls wanting to get into skating and to follow their passions.
