Farewell Vocal Tutor, Samantha Hargreaves

Samantha Hargreaves started teaching voice at Kilbreda in 2020 ‘the year of Microsoft Teams meetings’. She has been involved in the College Community for 13 years. She attended Kilbreda from 2010 to 2015. Sam has been cast in an opera in Sydney in April. From there she will undertake a two-year scholarship at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. As much as all of us are excited for her we are all very sad that she’s leaving. On Wednesday 29 March, Ms Rabbetts organised for the students of voice to surprise Sam and give her a signed card and some presents for her to take on her flight to Sydney.

Sam has been a wonderful teacher. She never failed to make you smile and she was always up for a challenge. In her words, ‘My teaching methods are always left of centre – we have done work with resistance bands, emotional images, drawing with the opposite hand while singing, etc. I am so proud of all of my students as you have all improved consistently in confidence and technical ability.’

We wish her nothing but the best and we will miss her dearly.
