Performance and Development
This year staff have reflected on the many facets of performance and development at the College.
Staff have focussed on their Action Research Cycles in the Professional Learning Communities to enhance student engagement. Data has continued to be a focus to identify the needs of our students, and to measure growth and areas to continue to refine in our teaching. The Professional Learning Communities celebration sessions have promoted the sharing of practice between departments and teaching staff. Staff are encouraged to innovate, question, reflect, examine, inquire and learn from each other.
‘If we support and empower the adults in the school to continually grow, innovate, question, take risks, reflect, examine, inquire, and learn from one another, then teachers will create those same conditions for classroom.’ Ron Richhart: Cultures of Thinking
Staff have focused on Gen AI in their Professional Learning Days and worked with Leon Furze to reflect on the five principles of assessment, the use of chatbots and the impact on wellbeing, and how GenAI can work as a tool to enhance our practice. Leon Furze will return to the College during our staff week to assist with developing both an assessment scale and a policy that addresses the use of GenAI.
Staff have continued to explore our theme of Hospitality through prayer and liturgy and participating in our Spirituality Day.
The Annual Reviews of each staff member continues to take place where staff reflect on their growth and achievements and begin to develop their goals for 2026 and beyond. The ‘culture of thinking’ of both staff and students continues to be embedded in the life of the College.
As our 2025 school year concludes, I wish the Kilbreda community a safe, happy and holy Christmas and wonderful New Year.
