Performance and Development

Welcome to Term 4

As we commence Term 4, we look forward to a period of continued professional engagement, reflection and growth at Kilbreda College. This term presents a valuable opportunity to consolidate the work undertaken throughout the year and to further enhance the teaching and learning experience for both staff and students.

Professional Learning at Kilbreda College

Professional learning remains a central focus at Kilbreda, particularly through the work of our Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). Every fortnight, staff engage in structured PLC sessions dedicated to the analysis of data, curriculum refinement and the implementation of innovative, evidence-based instructional strategies.

This collaborative model supports the development of best practice and is underpinned by ongoing research into effective pedagogy. Staff are actively encouraged to observe one another’s classes and to engage in professional dialogue about the strategies being trialled. These observations and discussions aim to assess the impact of new approaches on student engagement and achievement, ensuring that professional learning is both reflective and outcomes focused.

Sharing Practice and Insights

As part of our ongoing commitment to collaboration and professional growth, staff will present their key findings and share successful strategies during Staff Week at the end of the year. These presentations enhance cross-faculty learning and promote the dissemination of effective teaching practices across the College. We are all looking forward to learning from each other and thus improving student learning and outcomes.
