Performance and Development

At our Staff Meeting on Tuesday 12 March, I presented my vision of the Performance and Development role for this year. This role sits between Learning and Teaching and Wellbeing, to enhance student learning and outcomes, professional learning, the professional growth of staff and thus continuous school improvement. The following image reflects the focus of the role:

Performance and Development

To empower the Kilbreda College community to continue to be a cohesive and dynamic professional learning community through comprehensive and targeted data analysis, research, and professional learning, fostering a culture of reflective practice and a shared commitment to growth and continuous school improvement.

We discussed each of the teams and their importance to this role in our Staff Meeting. Our Semester 1 and 2 Professional Learning Communities Inquiry Cycle, explores how data (the multiple measures) can identify a need in practice. Through research and implementation of strategies, staff can review their impact on student learning and outcomes and refine their practice.

Through our Professional Practice Reflection and Review each staff member will reflect on their role, responsibilities and goals for 2024. They also discuss with their reviewer areas of professional growth and future aspirations.

Our newly established Professional Learning Committee aims to align professional learning initiatives with the school improvement priorities, foster a positive climate for growth, and continue to build a professional learning community focused on improving student learning outcomes.

Our Data Analysis team is continuing their focus on building a data informed culture that highlights the impact staff have on student learning and outcomes.

Our year ahead, therefore, focuses on the professional growth of staff, reflection, research of evidence-based practice and continuing to build a data informed culture, subsequently enhancing our student learning and outcomes at Kilbreda College. An exciting year ahead!

I look forward to collaborating with these teams throughout the year as we explore and enhance the many components of performance and development at the College.

As we approach the end of term, I wish everyone a happy, restful and holy Easter break.
