New Staff

This year we have had a number of new staff join our college. I look forward to introducing you to these staff and sharing their biographies with you over these next few issues.

Laura Ridley

English Teacher
Laura brings with her eight years of teaching experience. She joins us from Siena College where she was Head of Religious Education. Prior, she worked at Santa Maria College for over eight years teaching RE and English, as well as undertaking other leadership positions including Year 11 and 12 Village Leader -Wellbeing and Faith in Action, along with Religious Education Coordinator. Laura has a Graduate Diploma in Theology (Biblical Studies and Christian Thought and History) and Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Arts (Theology/Literature).

Patricia (Trish) Fiore

College Nurse
Trish brings a depth and breadth of knowledge and experience as a Nurse. She joins us from John Paul College, where she worked for the past 19 years as the School Nurse. Trish understands the crucial role of a nurse within a school setting and is well across the needs of secondary students. Prior to working in a school Trish worked as a Psychiatric Nurse in clinical, aged care and consultancy settings and has close to 40 years’ experience. Trish is a Registered Nurse with membership to APHRA. She is particularly proud of her promotion of student wellbeing and looks forward to having a positive impact on the College Community.

Ashlinn Reilly

Learning Diversity Assistant
Ashlinn has previously worked in the community services sector in rural Echuca working with adults with a disability. She brings with her six years of customer service experience working at McDonalds, the last few years as a manager. Ashlinn is currently in her second year of a Bachelor of Secondary Education (ACU) and is very familiar to Kilbreda College as she graduated in the Class of 2021. Ashlinn is keen to build and expand her teaching/coaching skills and experience new challenges and diversity.

John Riddle

Head of Counselling Services
John has a varied background in Teaching and Counselling, spanning the last 23 years. He joins us from his most recent position at john Paul College where he was the Head of Counselling Services. Since 2005 at John Paul College, John also undertook a variety of other positions including Director of Faith and Mission, College Counsellor, Classroom Teacher and Student Social Justice Programs Coordinator. Prior to teaching, John worked for five years at WAYSS as a Manager, Senior Case Manager and Youth Housing Support Worker, working with the homeless in providing housing and support services. John has a Master of Social Work, Master of Leadership, Master in Counselling, Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) and Bachelor of Arts (Psychology and Sociology).

Domenic Schepis

AFL Trainee / Performing Arts
Domenic joins us after completing Year 12 in 2023 at St Bede’s College. Having recently graduated, Domenic has gained experience working in customer service at McDonald’s as a Crew Member and Coach. He also has a long affiliation with the College having been part of the productions since 2018 including ‘Legally Blonde’. As he heads into his first year out of secondary school he is certainly excited to further explore and delve into his area of passion and all things Performing Arts.

Kyle Turnbull

Learning Diversity Assistant
Kyle brings with him the experience of working one-on-one in a home setting providing education support to two students in Year 8 and 9 with learning needs. He has also worked for the last few years for Team Kids as a Holiday Educator working with primary aged students. Kyle is in his final year of a Bachelor of Health and Physical Education (Secondary) at Deakin University. He has undertaken preservice teacher placement at Elizabeth Murdoch College, Patterson River College, Mt Eliza College and Monterey College and particularly enjoys Mathematics, which is one of his teaching methods. He is looking forward this opportunity and working with the Learning Diversity Team, Teachers, Students and wider community.
