New Staff

This year we have had a number of new staff join our college. I look forward to introducing you to these staff and sharing their biographies with you over these next few issues.

Aaron Medoro

Humanities Teacher
Aaron brings with him four years’ teaching experience. He joins us from his most recent role with Sirius College Broadmeadows, Meadow Fair Campus where he commenced his teaching career. Aaron has a Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary), Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Health Information Management. He has previously taught VCE Legal Studies and currently teaches Years 7 to 10 Humanities.

Angela Saraceni

College Psychologist / Counsellor
Angela brings with her 15 years’ experience working as a psychologist with children and young people in an educational setting, having worked in both primary and secondary settings. She joins us from her most recent position at John Paul College, Frankston where she has worked as a Psychologist since 2012. Within this role she provided counselling and therapeutic support to students from Years 7 to 12, while also conducting cognitive and educational assessments. Prior to this Angela worked for four and a half years at Centacare Catholic Family Services where she worked as part of the school counselling program, providing psychological counselling and support to primary aged students across a range of primary schools. Angela has a Master of Psychology (Counselling), Graduate Diploma in Educational Psychology and Bachelor of Arts. She is a registered AHPRA Psychologist.

Joel Savage

English Teacher
Joel brings with him close to two years’ teaching experience. He joins us from his most recent role with Kilvington Grammar School where he taught English and Humanities. He originally started working at the school as a Learning Support Teacher, which is certainly an area of passion for him and one that he is well suited to, along with his other method areas. Joel has a Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Arts (Humanities) History Major/Literature/English Minor from ACU.

Katie Albrecht

Library Technician
Katie joins us from her most recent position working as a Library Technician at Bellarine Secondary College, where she had been for the last 10 years. Prior to this position she was working as a Library Assistant at Point Cook Secondary College. Katie has also worked as an Administration Assistant within the community services sector. Katie has a Diploma in Library and Information Services (Vic Uni), Certificate II in Business Administration (Gordon TAFE) and Diploma in Liberal Arts (humanities and social sciences) (Swinburne Uni).

Anne Fairnie

Learning Diversity Assistant
Anne joins us from her most recent position working as a Learning Assistant at Cornish College, where she has been working for the last three years. She was working with the accelerated maths group within the primary school, as well as one on one and small groups of Year 7 to 10 students within the secondary school, supporting them with Maths and English (including other subject areas). As part of her role Anne also provided administration support within the individual needs department, assisting with the collection of data for NCCD. Prior to this Anne spent close to seven years as a Learning Assistant at Peninsula Grammar, predominately supporting students within the subject areas of Maths and English. Anne has a Bachelor of Economics, with a Major in Accounting (Monash University) and a Certificate of Education Support-Integration Aide (Monash University). Anne is passionate about wanting to make a difference in the lives of children and is excited about her new role with the College.

Joyce Sendeckyj

Head of Library and Information Services

Joyce brings with her 18 years’ experience working within the area of library and information services. She joins us from her most recent position as Head of Library at St Peter’s College (Cranbourne and Clyde North campuses) where she has been for the last 5 years. Prior to this she has worked at leadership and management level within the library at CBC (now St Mary’s College), Salesian College (Chadstone) and Emmanuel College (Altona North and Point Cook). Along with primary/secondary school environments, she has worked in the University and TAFE sectors. Joyce has also presented at conferences for SLAV and contributed to publications with research undertaken in this field. Joyce has a Master of Teaching (with Honours) (Monash Uni), Graduate Diploma of Education, methods ICT and English (Monash Uni), Bachelor of Applied Science, Library and Information Management, major Computer Technology (Charles Sturt Uni), Associate Diploma of Social Science (Swinburne Uni). She has professional affiliations with SLAV, ASLA and ALIA. She looks forward to sharing her passion, philosophy, and aspirations with the College.
