New Staff

This year we have had a number of new staff join our College. I look forward to introducing you to these staff and sharing their biographies with you over the next two issues of this newsletter.

Chris McPhee

English and VET Teacher

Chris joins us from teaching most recently at Canterbury Girls’ Secondary College, where he was responsible for teaching English and History across Years 7 to 10. Chris has developed his skills in the areas of learning design and implementation of technologies to enhance student learning in the classroom. He looks forward to furthering his professional development and embracing new challenges.

Prue Mitchell

College Nurse

Prue has an extensive background working as a Nurse, across various settings, commencing her career as a Theatre Nurse within hospital settings. In more recent years Prue has worked as a School Nurse for 13 years at Xavier College, where she was hands-on in establishing and setting up the Health Centre at the School. A very busy role that saw her working across three campuses, which also involved catering to boarders at the school. More recently Prue moved into a role as a Clinical Nurse within Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery, to re-establish her clinical nursing skills. She is a passionate promotor of Health, Safety and Wellbeing and understands the importance this role plays within a College Community.

Suzy Pask

Mathematics Teacher

Suzy has taught at OLSH College, Bentleigh for the past 22 years and has a deep admiration of the Catholic faith. She believes kindness, courage and compassion underpin the academic, social, emotional and spiritual education, and growth of young women. In her most recent position as Head of Mathematics, she enjoyed the varied experiences and challenges faced. Suzy is passionately committed to providing excellent teaching in the classroom. Self-reflection is a hallmark of her practice, and she aims to work diligently to enhance her knowledge and skills.

Katy Philbin

English and Humanities Teacher

Katy is a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin. She has been teaching for almost four years in secondary schools. She has experience as an English and Geography Teacher. In addition to her teaching, she holds a TEFL certificate and has previously worked as a part-time Disability Support Worker.

Annaliese Rogers

PE Teacher

Annaliese was a previous student at the College and has recently graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Secondary Health and Physical Education, with a major in Outdoor Education. Annalise brings with her a solid understanding of the College Community and the core values of the Brigidine Traditions. She has also experienced first-hand what working life is like at the College, as she worked as part of the Tutoring Program in 2021/2022.

Olivia Stott

English and DTE Teacher

Olivia has worked as a Teacher since graduating in 2019 with her Master of Teaching in Secondary Education. She began her career as a CRT with ANZUK, before accepting a contract role at Loreto Toorak, where she was teaching for 2 years, giving her experience in VCE English, Years 7 and 8 Positive Education and a Year 7 Mentor Group. For the past year she has been working at Mentone Grammar School teaching English and Humanities. With a strong passion for education, Olivia is looking to further grow and develop her teaching practice.
