JAG Family Friendship Day

Each year, the St Brigid’s and St Louis’ Justice Action Group (JAG) holds a family picnic for refugees and their families. On Sunday 29 October, three of our Year 10 students volunteered to help organise games and activities for the children attending. The afternoon was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone and the feedback from the organiser says it all.

“I am writing on behalf of the Justice Action Group at St Mary of the Cross Parish to thank you most sincerely for Kilbreda’s support of our Family Friendship Day yesterday.  Zoe, Charlotte and Thea were outstanding, organising games and activities for the children and interacting with both refugee families and parishioners. They encouraged the children to participate in the games and were generous in responding to any request for help. They were also interested in the other activities of JAG and volunteered to help at any future events.

All three girls were a credit to the College and their families.  Their genuine interest in social justice issues was inspiring.

It has been a pleasure working with the girls and I hope that this is the beginning of a strong relationship between the school and the parish as we respond to social justice issues together.”

Great work Zoe, Charlotte and Thea!

Vinnies Christmas Hamper Drive

Donations for Christmas hampers are being sought now. Each Homeroom has been given a family to donate to. These are families within our local area that are doing it tough. Let’s all bring a little bit of Christmas cheer in the way of goods or money donations.
