Book Week Wrap Up

The 2025 Book Week theme was ‘Book an Adventure’. Our pre-Book Week activities engaged all Year 7, 8 and 9 students in gaining their ‘Book an Adventure’ reading passports and taking us on a myriad of reading adventures as they travelled within their stories, exploring interesting personal journeys, distant lands, magical realms and new cultures.

Judging the Edible Books for the theme of Book an Adventure was a huge challenge with the 14 cakes entered! Congratulations to the following winners:

1st prize: Amelia Presnell with Winnie the Pooh (202 points)

Equal 2nd: Gabriella Olechnowicz with The Cruel Prince and Leni Carroll and Samara Dwyer with Charlie & the Chocolate Factory (192 points each)

3rd: Zoey Fernandez with Jaws (181 points)

Congratulations to our other winners during Book Week:

  • Write a Book in a Day participants and teams for their individual Kilbreda awards
  • Juno Siegman (Year 7) for being named the ‘Most Engaged Reader’ in our Beanstack Book Club
  • Quiz winners Zoe Eades, Zoey Fernandez, Louisa Healy, Metua Tangianou, Zoe Powlowski, Juno Siegman and Isabella Ley (all Year 7). This was the first year in our Book Week Quiz that Year 7s have come first!

Everyone was a winner with new Board games!

A huge thank you to all the students that helped select new books for our collection.

Thank you to all our sponsors and supporters; it was truly enjoyable and productive Book Week 2025!
