Learning and Teaching
Term 4 has commenced with a sense of excitement and change in the air. Our Unit 3 & 4 students are deeply engaged in their revision programs as they prepare for final assessments. For our other year levels, the focus now turns to upcoming assessments, subject allocations for 2026, and preparations for the new academic year, which officially begins with Headstart on 24 November.
2026 Subject Allocations
Over the next week, senior students will receive their 2026 subject allocations. Our goal is to ensure that every student engages in a range of subjects that both reflect their personalised learning pathway and allow them to experience the breadth of opportunities our curriculum offers.
To maintain this breadth, there may be occasions where classes are combined. These decisions are made in consultation with Learning Leaders to ensure subjects remain viable for future years.
While every effort is made to accommodate student and cohort preferences, a small number of students will receive one or more of their reserve subject choices. In rare cases where timetable construction has presented challenges, I have worked directly with students and their families to find suitable solutions.
We recognise that students’ interests and pathways evolve over time. Therefore, there will be an opportunity to request subject changes before the commencement of Headstart. Requests can be submitted via the online subject change request form, which will be emailed directly to students. Changes will be considered based on subject availability.
We are also pleased to acknowledge the students who have been approved to accelerate in their studies. This achievement reflects their dedication and commitment to learning. In some cases, timetable constraints have prevented allocation to a preferred accelerated subject. These students are encouraged to use the subject change request process to explore alternative options, but we would like to reinforce this does not preclude students from selecting the subject in 2027.
Allocations for junior students will be released at a later date.
Visual Art, Design and Technologies Exhibition
The opening night of the Visual Art, Design and Technologies Exhibition was a highlight of our first week in Term 4. The creativity and skill on display across all year levels were truly inspiring. I’ve included some of my favourite works below, but every piece reflected remarkable effort and imagination.
A heartfelt thank you to all staff involved in organising and supporting this outstanding event.
