Learning and Teaching

There is much to look forward to this term. There are a variety of upcoming cocurricular activities which serve to provide opportunities to utilise strengths and talents in a multitude of ways. Students are preparing to participate in the BIG Science Competition, Building Bridges, Debating and many CSGAV and SEGAP sporting competitions.

We are also looking forward with much anticipation to the final showcase of the Kilbreda Festival next Wednesday evening 10 May at 7.00pm in the Auditorium. Booking details are included on the Cocurricular Performing Arts page within this edition.

We belong to a welcoming and vibrant community. What a blessing!

Academic Tutoring Program

A reminder that in 2023 we are continuing our Academic Tutoring Program, with support staff working in classrooms from Years 7 to 9 and providing after school support for all students in the Library until 5.00pm from Monday to Thursday. Please encourage students to utilise the support available in the Library and connect with the Library staff, Learning Diversity Assistants, Tutors and Teachers, to assist with their studies.

Years 10 to 12 Futures Program

This year, has seen the commencement of the Futures program in Years 10 to 12. During Term 4 last year, both students and staff were surveyed as to the content they would like to see taught in this subject. The results of these surveys have been utilised in the development of the Futures Program which sees the inclusion of:

  • Student mentoring
  • Incursions and guest speakers related to study and motivation
  • Study skill workshops
  • Information sessions
  • Career and pathway planning

We are excited about the possibilities that this subject offers and look forward to sharing more stories as the year unfolds.
