Courage: Speaking and Acting with Integrity

Throughout the six years that students spend at the College they are afforded the opportunity to learn about our core values – Courage, Compassion, Justice, Hospitality, Hope and Wonder. There are also multiple occasions which highlight our College motto, ‘Fortiter et Suaviter’ (Strength and Kindliness).
However, What do these really mean?
Why are these the values of Kilbreda College?
How do they become the hallmarks of a Kilbreda graduate?

These values have been carefully chosen as values that are reflective of the way in which Jesus conducted his ministry. They are Gospel values that inspire us to lead lives that echo the principles of the mission of Jesus and encourage us to take action and make a positive difference in our world.

Over this holiday break consider how you might be able to live the values of Kilbreda with your friends, your family and with those in the wider community.

Integrity is choosing your thoughts and actions based on values rather than personal gain Chris Karcher (Author)

Parent/Teacher Interviews

Thank you for partnering with us in the opportunity to participate in Parent/Teacher interviews. We value meeting with you to discuss the progress of your children. Please keep the lines of communication open throughout the year and contact your child’s teachers via email if you have any concerns regarding their learning.

Term 1 Break

Term 1 has been filled with much learning and much busyness as we all return to something that more closely resembles life pre-covid. I pray that each family is able to enjoy some well deserved family time during the school break.

The two weeks away from the classroom is an opportunity for our senior students to organise their notes for their studies thus far and prepare for the term ahead. Here are some tips to make the most of your holidays.

Plan out your schedule

  • Set time for fun and downtime
  • Plan revision time for your studies
  • Leave a couple of days free for spur of the moment get togethers

Focus on particular subjects

  • Spend time catching up in any subjects where you feel behind
  • Senior students are encouraged to utilise resources such as Edrolo and ATAR Notes to revise and to work ahead
  • Map out a plan for the term ahead

Don’t over commit

  • Don’t overfill your schedule
  • Plan for fun, relaxation in addition to study time

Set realistic expectations

  • Be prepared to change your plans
  • Don’t over plan your schedule
  • Be realistic in what you plan to accomplish

Set study catch-ups

  • Plan catch-ups that are both social and opportunities to study
  • Organise your study sessions with friends to support each other
  • Study catch-ups will help to hold you and your friends accountable

Look after your health and wellbeing

  • Take the opportunity to have some extra sleep
  • Eat healthy and regular meals
  • Take brain breaks during your study sessions
