Learning and Teaching
I am delighted to have commenced my role at Kilbreda and look forward to engaging with our wider community over the coming weeks. Term 3 promises to contain a range of enriching learning experiences, and I encourage all students to seize the opportunities that arise.
Our core value of Hospitality has been on display as I have found myself truly made welcome by staff, students and the wider community. For our new students and students who commenced at the start of the year, I trust that this semester will provide further opportunities for you to consolidate your connections within the College.
Later this term, we invite families and students to attend the Learning Progress Meetings. These meetings encourage students to build their autonomy as learners as they can both share their experiences as well as hear feedback for the next steps in the learning. I encourage you to access PAM to review assessment feedback throughout the term and if you have any queries contact the subject teacher.
Future Pathways
It was wonderful to see so many of our community attending the Pathways Expo last week. Our passionate educators seized this opportunity to discuss our subject offerings in depth and students also had the opportunity to engage with tertiary providers.

Subject Preferences Reminder
Subject preference submissions close Thursday 31 July. All students will have received an email from Ms Carole Downie (College Timetabler) on Thursday 24 July. Every effort will be made to ensure that students receive their preferred subject preferences. It is important that students have carefully considered their choices as the classes we offer will be based on student preferences and operational needs.
We encourage students to view subject preferences as a way of optimising their future possibilities. It is important to note that some post-school studies require prerequisite learning with mathematics, sciences and a minimum achievement in an English subject. Aside from tertiary studies, a well-balanced learning program enables students to draw on many skills and complex knowledge, which will be of benefit, irrelevant of career.
