Speaking and Acting with Integrity

The International Women’s Day Breakfast this week provided us with an opportunity to hear wonderful examples of how the gospel value of Courage can be seen in our every day lives. Year 10 student, Amelia Presnell, and Year 12 student, Hayley Meure, shared inspiring reflections of the importance of equality and standing up to see justice in our world. Whilst we may not be able to change the world on our own, each individual act of courage has a positive impact in the lives of many.

Be the change you wish to see in the world

VCE and VCE VM Parent Information Evening

It was wonderful to have parents join us last week to hear about the ways in which they can work in partnership with the College to support their children through their final years of schooling. Ms Louise Mansfield (Senior Pathways Leader) and Ms Jane Delahunty (Student Wellbeing Leader: Years 10 to 12) presented information to support parent understanding of the senior pathways that are offered at the College and the journey that students undertake in these final years.

If you were unable to make it last week we invite you to access the slides from the presentation below.

Elevate Education

We are proud to work with Elevate Education to provide multiple opportunities for students and parents to engage with workshops regarding study skills and techniques. Year 11 students have recently had the opportunity to participate in a workshop onsite entitled, ‘Student Elevation’, which covered the following information:

  • Techniques for self motivating
  • The role of belief and self-efficacy in performance
  • Developing a Growth Mindset
  • Increasing motivation through goal attachment
  • Breaking goals into manageable tasks and deadlines

The Year 7 to 9 Elevate Education Parent Session was well attended and covered information related to study skills and organisational habits for students in the first few years of secondary school.

Elevate Education host regular online webinars which are free for parents to attend. There are also numerous resources and tools available on their website https://au.elevateeducation.com/  (if a password is required for resources – rondo)
