Meet the Team Years 7 – 9 (4 March)
We warmly invite our Year 7, 8 and 9 students and their families to our upcoming Meet the Team evening on Wednesday 4 March.
This event is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the year ahead and connect with the staff who will be guiding your daughter’s educational journey.
- Year 7 Meet the Team commences at 5.00pm in the Auditorium
- Year 8 Meet the Team commences at 6.00pm in the Auditorium
- Year 9 Meet the Team commences at 7.00pm in the Auditorium
What to Expect on the Night
- Information Presentations: The evening will commence with a presentation tailored to each specific year level. This session will outline the overarching learning and wellbeing programs designed for your daughter this year.
- Informal Meet and Greet: Following the presentations, parents and students are invited to join us in the Mary Dalton Hall. This will be a relaxed, informal opportunity to chat and engage with our teaching staff.
Important Information Regarding Student Progress
Please note that the primary aim of this evening is to serve as a welcoming “meet and greet.” It is not designed to replace our formal Learning Progress Meetings, which are scheduled to take place at the end of this term.
If you have specific inquiries or concerns regarding your daughter’s progress before the end of the term, we encourage you to reach out directly via email:
- For Wellbeing Matters: Please contact your daughter’s Homeroom Teacher.
- For Academic Matters: Please contact the relevant Classroom Teacher.
NAPLAN
We would like to inform parents and students that the 2026 NAPLAN assessments for Year 7 and Year 9 will be taking place later this term.
These assessments will run over multiple dates, commencing on Wednesday 11 March and concluding with a final catch-up session on Friday 20 March.
Understanding NAPLAN at Our School
It is completely natural for students to feel a little anxious about assessments, but we want to emphasise our school’s approach to NAPLAN.
- No preparation is needed: NAPLAN is simply a snapshot of your daughter’s performance at a specific point in time. It is not designed to be a high-stakes test that requires studying, cramming, or tutoring.
- A Tool for Teachers: We view NAPLAN as a valuable resource for our teaching staff. It provides us with essential learning data that helps us understand where students currently sit in their literacy and numeracy development.
- Tailored Teaching: The insights we gather from these assessments allow us to better tailor our classroom programs and teaching strategies to the specific needs of the students in front of us.
- Just Do Your Best: We simply ask that students arrive on the assessment days ready to give it their best effort – nothing more, nothing less!
What Happens Next?
A formal communication will be sent out to all Year 7 and 9 families shortly. This will include a detailed timetable of the assessment days, technical requirements (such as bringing fully charged devices and headphones) and information regarding catch-up sessions for absent students.
