Visual Arts and Design and Technologies Exhibition

October was a big month in Design and Technologies with staff and students preparing for the annual Visual Arts and Design and Technologies Exhibition. Opening night saw the Kilbreda community fill the Mary Dalton Hall. 

Congratulations to all of our creative and talented students who displayed their work in the exhibition.  

Student Reflection

The annual Kilbreda Fashion Show was held during the much-anticipated Visual Arts and Design and Technologies Exhibition. The year’s worth of designs from Years 10, 11 and 12 Textiles were all featured on the runway. The Mary Dalton Hall was filled with wonderful student work from Years 7 to 12.

This year, Food Technology was featured for the first time. The Year 10 Food Technology class decorated fruit cakes and designs that ranged from Nemo, the Lorax and Cookie Monster. The night was a great success with teachers, students and members of the Kilbreda community thoroughly enjoying the night and celebrating the achievements of talented and creative students.

Menu Planning Activity

On Monday 23 October, the Year 10 Food Technology class hosted a lunch for selected teachers. Students planned a two-course menu based on the teachers likes/dislikes and dietary requirements.

The students prepared and cooked a main course and dessert and served the teachers during lunchtime. Year 10 students are congratulated on their efforts and excellent presentation of their meals.

All the teachers involved were very honoured to be invited and were very impressed with the standard of the meals.
