2024 Music Program Information

It has been a magnificent year of musical achievement at Kilbreda! We began a Beginner Strings Ensemble, Beginner Band has continued to flourish, the String Ensemble, Middle Orchestra and Senior Ensemble have mastered increasingly challenging repertoire, we have been treated to high level saxophone trio works, the guitar ensemble continues to delight at concerts, and Kilbreda Chorale has grown in strength and is being requested often for community events.

Our tutors have worked hard to inspire and develop our budding musicians, with many benefitting from the recent Recital Series, where each student had the opportunity to perform as a soloist, and a handful have completed AMEB or VCE performance exams. Perhaps the biggest achievement of a group of our senior music students was their participation in our Legally Blonde Production Band, which gave them all a real-life experience of working in the music industry.

Plans are well underway to continuing building the program next year, so we are pleased to provide the details of what will be on offer. Registrations are now open for private tuition and ensemble participation in 2024.

Package 1: Ensemble Immersion

This package is for students who would like to participate in any band or the chorale alongside their private tuition. Compulsory attendance at all rehearsals and performances is required. Students in this stream will be given priority invitation to Music events and workshops. Students may still pursue learning their instrument/voice as a solo or ensemble performer and can arrange to complete AMEB exams.

Package 2: Solo Performance

This package is for students who would like to focus on learning an instrument or voice for personal pleasure or academic endeavour, who do not wish to be involved in any bands or choirs.

Both packages offer private lessons for either 20 or 30 minutes in length.

Please find further detailed information in the attached Program Brochure and contact the Performing Arts Department if any further information is required.
