Kilbreda College Careers Expo – Register Today!

This year we are proud to be hosting a Careers Expo for Kilbreda students.

This event will take place in the Auditorium and the Kildare Centre on Monday 21 August, 6.00pm to 8.00pm.

For further details including information on speakers and to register, see the flyer below.

The evening will showcase information from a variety of tertiary institutions as well as a range of past pupils working in a variety of fields.

Industries represented include marketing and entrepreneurship, journalism and media, creative industries such as graphic and interior design, performing arts, health sciences, STEM, education and trades.

Open Days

What are Open Days?

These events provide an amazing opportunity for prospective students and their families to learn about courses, accommodation, student services, pathways and student groups and societies at various Tertiary Institutions (Universities and TAFE).

Most Tertiary institutional Open Days are held in late July and August. 

What Happens on an Open Day?

During Open Days you can visit an institution when it’s at its best. You will have the opportunity to talk with academics, lecturers, and current students about what certain courses are actually like, and what is required to get into them.

Who Should Attend an Open Day?

Anyone who is considering studying at a tertiary level in the next few years should attend. Students in Years 10, 11 and 12 are encouraged to participate in a few Open Days.

Victoria Police | Careers Information Session, Geelong

Victoria Police is hosting an information session for members of the community who are interested in a career with Victoria Police focussing on the role of a police officer.

Learn more about the recruitment process, training at the Police Academy, general duties policing, career pathways and specialty units and more. It’s also your opportunity speak with local police members to ask questions you have about a career with Victoria Police.

RBA Economic Update Webinar for High School Students

Aimed at students in Years 11-12, this webinar will feature an RBA economist sharing insights on monetary policy and current economic conditions.

It’s a great opportunity for students to get the latest information about what’s happening in the Australian economy and pose questions to an RBA economist. Students and educators should register directly to attend this online event.

YES (Young Entrepreneur Summit) Secondary, Melbourne

Run by young people, for young people, YES (Young Entrepreneur Summit) is a one-day, interactive summit designed to inspire and empower a generation of brave, creative and entrepreneurial young leaders.

YES, is a super high energy, action-packed, one day event that features keynote presentations, panel discussions and interactive group workshops on a whole range of ‘adulting skills’ such as public speaking, financial literacy, ideation and collaboration + teamwork.

This event is designed for secondary school students (Grade 7 to 12) and young adults (17 to 21 years).

UN Youth | Aotearoa Leadership Tour 2023

The Aotearoa Leadership Tour brings together 16 young Australians in Years 10 – 12 to explore indigenous rights, culture and reconciliation from 18th September to 2nd October. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore Australia’s relationship with its first peoples through an intercultural tour of New Zealand.

The tour focuses on the rich history and tradition of the Maori people, and the methods used to preserve this culture. You’ll spend two weeks travelling through Wellington, Auckland, Waitangi, Rotorua and Sydney to meet and work with local communities, grassroots organisations, government representatives and NGOs at the forefront of the fight for indigenous rights.

All young people in Years 10-12 are welcome, and we strongly encourage those from diverse and minority backgrounds to apply.

University of Melbourne | Hands on Engineering and IT

A day of workshops to introduce year 10 students to different areas of Engineering & IT.

You don’t need any prior knowledge – this day is about having a look at Engineering & IT, solving a few problems, seeing the campus, meeting some students and academics, having a pizza lunch and having fun.

The schedule will be repeated daily so students should attend one day only.

SEAS Applications

There are four categories in SEAS. You can apply for one or more categories that are relevant to your situation, so long as you apply to each category for a different reason.

Further information about each of these categories is available from the links below.

  • SEAS applications Opens 31 July and Closes 6 October
  • After 15th September, the received SEAS Documents will not be reviewed by VTAC
  • Please note: All students should apply for Category 1 – No evidence is required
