Assistant Principal: Staff

Throughout the year we have had the opportunity to ‘Shine a Light On’ the wonderful work of many of our Teaching and Learning Diversity staff.

In this edition, we will ‘Shine a Light On’ the role of two of our support staff. The work of our support staff in the Front Office, Finance, Maintenance, Library, ICT, AV and Development Teams, is vital in ensuring all our programs provide the best learning opportunities for our students.

This week, we introduce you to two members of our Development Office.

Andrea Halliday
Director of Development and Community Relations

I am the Director of Development and Community Relations, which involves everything from enrolments, marketing and promotion of the College, social media and publications, to organising community events, transition events, Open Mornings and Evenings and training Student Ambassadors, to managing our alumnae program with the Past Pupils’ Network Committee. Needless to say it has a lot of variety!

One of the most rewarding aspects of the role has been establishing the Student Ambassador Program over the past two years and seeing the confidence develop in these wonderful students from Years 8 to 11. They are such fine representatives of the College and willingly take on hosting of events, guided tours of the College and greeting of visitors at a range of College events, including reunions and primary school workshops.

Another rewarding part about working at Kilbreda is collaborating with a dedicated team of staff on our community events, such as our Community Breakfasts and Whole School Assemblies. The Community Breakfasts are the result of much planning from an events team that are committed to ensuring a successful event and a memorable experience for our guests and I am honoured to work with such a great group of people here at the College.

Amanda Hurley
College Registrar

In my role as College Registrar, I respond to all enquiries from families and facilitate student enrolments. Preparation for and participation at Open Events is also a significant part of the role, together with assisting staff involved in the Year 7 Transition Program.  The role is busy and has many aspects; no two days are alike, which is what I enjoy most about being a Registrar.

Without a doubt, the most rewarding part of my role is being able to assist and guide families throughout the enrolment process. It is also wonderful to meet new students upon entry to Kilbreda. Another highlight is to witness Year 6 students progressing through the Year 7 Transition Program and greeting them on their first day at the College.

I am blessed to be a part of the amazing Development Team who do an incredible job promoting Kilbreda.
