Assistant Principal – Staff

I would like to welcome the following staff members who have joined the Kilbreda community.

Branny Williams

Branny joins us in the new role of Human Resources Manager. Branny has worked mainly in the Victorian government, local government and higher education spaces in Human Resources Management (HRM). The role of Human Resources Manager combines Branny’s passions of HRM and Teaching.

A few years ago, both Branny and her husband studied their Master of Teaching together (yes, it was challenging!), and whilst her husband is currently teaching in a Secondary College, Branny has returned to Human Resources.

Branny is very excited to join such a wonderful school that is both future-focused and with such a rich history, and is looking forward to meeting staff in the coming weeks.

When not at work, Branny can be either skiing in the Winter or stand-up paddle boarding in the bay in the Summer months.

Emma Cairns

Emma joins us as a Teacher in Media for Year 10 and Digital Technologies in Year 8 and is here for Semester 2.

Emma’s first impression of Kilbreda is ‘kindness’. “All the staff I have met so far have been so helpful and welcoming. The never-ending corridors and impressive bell tower also makes me feel like I could be walking around Hogwarts!” An interesting fact about Emma is that prior to teaching and pre-COVID, she was a European Tour Guide for five years and toured in over 25 countries!

Emma’s inspiration to work in education comes from working in marketing for universities and as a tour guide where she loved making a difference and getting feedback from students or passengers about the things they had learned or seen on her recommendation. When COVID-19 hit and fractured the travel industry, becoming a teacher seemed like a natural fit.

Jack Bennett

Jack joins us as a Teacher in Religious Education and Compass. When asked what he was most looking forward to at Kilbreda his first impressions that he responded, “What I am most looking forward to in working at Kilbreda is getting to know the fantastic ideas that come from the minds of Kilbreda girls. My first impression of Kilbreda is a welcoming community.”

Jack added that an interesting fact about himself is “I can hold a basic conversation in four languages”. When asked about his inspiration to work in education he said “it comes from seeing the smile on a student’s face when, after persevering, they get something”.
