In the recent administration renovations, what was once the ballroom of the Mentone Coffee Palace, had yet another facelift. On the arrival of the Brigidines, this area was chosen as the site for the Chapel. Its huge bay window area was ideal for the altar and can be seen in the image below from the 1930s.

When the new Chapel was built in the 1960s, this area reverted to other convent use, as a kind of recreation room. From the time the convent closed in 1981 until the 1997 renovations, it was a Year 10 classroom, Room 15. From memory I taught Year 10 French there in about 1992.
