Northern Territory Immersion

Over the holidays 39 Year 11 students and five staff members (who we thank so much!) headed off to our annual Northern Territory Immersion for 11 days journeying from Uluru to Darwin. The trip consisted of so many unforgettable moments like witnessing water running down Uluru, which is rarely seen! There were moments to wonder like hiking around Kings Canyon (and visiting ‘The Garden of Eden’ – a highlight of the trip), visiting Desert Park, Royal Flying Doctors Service and the Alice Springs Women’s Museum. Moments to explore visiting the Western MacDonnell Ranges, Simpsons Gap, Stanley Chasm and Devils Marbles. There were moments to unwind and relax after many hours on foot and the bathing at the Mataranka Thermal Pools provided great relief. There were moments to learn, listen and reflect on the Gorge Cultural Cruise and the rich history of the Jawoyn tribe and the Sunrise Yellow Waters Cruise to revel at the local wildlife and vegetation along the river. There were moments to simply have fun like exploring Darwin and the Mindil Markets, enjoying a little retail therapy and a movie. Most importantly there were moments to connect and create memories that will always be treasured.
