National Refugee Week

This week is National Refugee Week. It is a week when we are invited to celebrate diversity, the richness of culture and the achievements of refugees. This year’s theme, ‘Finding Freedom’, aims to highlight aspects of the refugee experience and help the broader community to understand what it is like to be a refugee. This morning, all members of the College participated in a moving Liturgy and we thank the students who spoke so reverently and to Year 10 student, Evie H, for her powerful rendition of ‘The Climb’.

How Can I Help?

1 – We ask our families to consider donating to our annual BASP Winter Food Drive where food and essential goods will be distributed to those most in need. This is done via the students’ Homerooms or goods can be dropped at reception.

2 – We have three teachers, Ms Isabelle Renner, Ms Fiona Vella and Ms Jane Ward and 20 students taking part in the ‘Ration Challenge’ this week to raise awareness. Monies raised will be used by ‘Act For Peace’ to support their works within this community. You can donate at https://schools.rationchallenge.org.au/year-9-2023

We are so proud of our team volunteering to take part in the ‘Ration Challenge’ and for staff and students who are assisting with the BASP Winter Food Drive. We thank you all for your support.
