Last week, our 2024 Year 10 Advanced Mathematics class joined forces with the Year 9 Advanced Mathematics class from St Bede’s College to participate in an exciting ‘Amazing Race’ type challenge. During the session, the teams collaborated on a variety of fun, yet tricky tasks! Students were organised into groups and were given one hour to tackle the engaging challenges. Year 9 student, Jayda V was intrigued by the ways in which the problems were solved. “It was interesting to see how boys and girls approach problem-solving differently and together we were able to work amazingly!” We thank Dr Karen McMullen, our Learning Leader: Mathematics, for organising this challenge, which provided students with the opportunity to enjoy mathematics in a hands-on environment and also enhance their communication and teamwork skills between both groups of students.
