Last Friday we were honoured to host students from Killester College, Star of the Sea College, Marian College and St Joseph’s College for the Kildare Ministries Student Justice and Peace Seminar. The Seminar was designed for the students to learn about each other and about First Nations justice in Australia. The day began with a Deep Listening Liturgy, followed by a presentation from keynote speaker, Indigenous Artist and advocate, Adam Magennis. Breakout sessions throughout the day provided the opportunity for thought-provoking conversations, which culminated in a final session. This session was designed to help students imagine what actions they might carry out to raise awareness and bring about change for First Nations people as part of the upcoming Reconciliation Week from 27 May to 3 June.
