International Women’s Day

Today on International Women’s Day we are encouraged to “imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated”. At the College, we have celebrated in style with a delicious breakfast and a keynote address from our special guest, past pupil and Victoria’s Victims of Crime Commissioner, Fiona McCormack AM. Fiona’s inspirational speech addressed the progress that women have already made in the world and the work we still have to undertake in continuing to ‘Break the Bias’. Fiona was incredibly impressed by our Student Leaders who led the Breakfast and by our Senior Choir, who delivered a beautiful rendition of ‘True Colours / Brave’.

It was an honour to be able to celebrate in person once again and fill our Mary Dalton Hall with incredible women supporting and celebrating each other. We are so fortunate at the College to have many strong advocates who empower our students daily and encourage them to be whatever it is they want to be.
